Sometimes when you stop by Kowalski's early in the morning, their bread supplies have yet to be replenished.  That makes for empty baskets and rumbly bellies.  Grand Avenue and Ayd Mill.

LOVE this sign!

I pass by here all the time but never knew what it was, just knew I loved the funky and creative sign.  Turns out it's Thinair Construction.  They don't have a working website yet so that's all I was able to find out.  All I know is I love seeing the doors all flung open and people working with their hands.  Pretty cool looking building.  Jefferson and Toronto

The Stage Door

On my way to Roller Derby the other night, I passed the stage door for The Ordway.  Guess who's in town?  Just off 5th street in downtown.

Stanley in Saint Paul

There I was, minding my own business, having a beer and a bite before a Roller Derby bout when all of the sudden, there was quite the commotion.  A crowd drew very quickly and people had their cameras/phones out taking pictures and posing with.....The Stanley Cup.  Ok, I get that there's only one in the world and that I do live in Hockey Heaven, but really?  A two cop escort and all that fuss for a trophy?  Huh.  Who knew?

Winter has dealt us a harsh blow here in Saint Paul.  In fact while we are usually good friends, winter and I aren't really speaking right now.  So I wanted to post this picture, of warmer weather and tropical bevvies....to remind me that it won't ALWAYS be this cold and snowy and that spring is in fact, out there somewhere, just waiting for me. I don't even know the name of this barber shop on Grand Avenue just south of Snelling.  All I know is that my husband finally has a decent haircut AND they have the COOLEST old school barber chairs!

The snow is slowly melting off all these delicious bike paths.  Soon the breeze will be in my hair once again.

A Wee Bit O The Irish

I hate to say it folks, but I may have outgrown this holiday.  Amateur night if you ask me.  I prefer to stay in and off the roads.  But I shot these as I was out binge shopping instead of binge drinking.  Enjoy!

My house kids.  Not one, but TWO trucks to solve our problem.  Nothing 6 grand can't take care of.   All new plumbing for us.  On the up side, Jake and Bob totally rock!!!  Thanks and a BIG shout out to Minneapolis Saint Paul Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning.  Big, BIG fans of them here on Laurel Ave.

Something Shiney

It's snowing here again today.  Sometimes you just need to get distracted by something shiney instead of focusing on the snow and cold.  This art piece hangs from the ceiling at Mall of America and was just fun to stare at for a while.  Like it was raining little crysals and rainbows.  Loved it!

OUCH!!

Is it motorcycle riding season yet?  What about bike riding season?  Or even WALKING season?  UGH!  My wallet hurts.  SA on Grand Avenue. 

Careful where you dig!

 You never know what's under those enormous piles of snow.  I think it means there's a BEAR stuck in there!  Behind Schmidt Brewery off West 7th.

Boy are we in for it!

When all this melts, I think I'll be buying a boat!  McDonalds, West 7th and Jefferson.

I'm hard pressed to bitch about the weather.  I can't control it and I kind of just enjoy it all.  But loads of folks around here, feel like THIS about it this winter.

Snow Perspective

Where in the world will we put it all?  Sometimes you have to get creative.  Behold my alley neighbors pile of snow stacked as high as his garage, accumulated all winter long.  (The Captain serves as a size reference.) How did he pile it up that high??? Maybe it will all melt by mid July?
