Lemon Heaven

Recently gifted with Lemon Curd, I took it to The Neighborhood Cafe to have with my toast.  It was deliciously amazing!  Why did it take me so long to try this?

Located on the corner of Saint Clair and Fairview, this alterations shop has a magnificent corner front door that I'm guessing dates back to the 40's, a pressed tin ceiling that I'm sure is original to the building, and a wall of colorful thread which I'm fairly certain is always changing.

Love Bug

I walk by this classic Beetle Bug all the time.  It lives just a few blocks from me and is one of my favorite cars in the neighborhood.  As I was walking by it yesterday, I saw a little story in it's hubcap, so I thought I would share.  Enjoy.

This water tower sits at 94 and Vandalia.  I see it on my way to and from the gym.  When I am there in the morning, it catches all this gorgeous morning light and for some reason, my attention.

The sunset this morning rocked my socks off.  Grand Avenue.

Maybe I just never noticed in the other places I've lived. but mixing nuts with Candy Corn and selling it in the grocery stores is just weird to me.  But it seems to be a popular treat this time of year.  Minnesota is kinda kooky.  I like that.

Take a step back in time and visit Lynden's Soda Fountain.  Old fashioned egg creams, real ice cream shakes and hand mixed fountain drinks served up by a real live soda jerk.  If only I'd worn my bobbie sox!

Ever drive around on the Fairgrounds when there is no Fair?  It's kinda eerie, spooky, surreal.  And it allows you to see things that you never noticed before.  Like these old school parking lot markers so you could find your car at the end of a long day of eating fried foods on a stick.  Cool.
