namaste

I discovered a new branch of my Corepower yoga that's just as easy for me to get to as the Grand Avenue studio but with MORE parking!  It's also a larger space and I like it a lot.  I especially loved the door to the lobby!  Cleveland Avenue.

Delicious Cake!

I stopped by Golden Treasures yesterday to have my rings cleaned.  Makes me feel like a new woman!  While there I spied THIS!

What a cool idea for a display.  I've posted about this place before back in 2006 here but a revisit never hurts!  Still LOVE this place.  They always clean my rings HAPPILY for free and do a great job!  Hooray for locally owned businesses who actually give a crap.

A little reminder of what it's all about.  Shhhhh.  Let the ground slumber.  It's resting up......for this!

Saint Paul ventured over to Minneapolis to take in the BOAT SHOW!!!  Looking at boats and dreaming of warmer weather and days spent on lakes and rivers was a great way to beat the freezing cold temps.  Hurry up spring.

A Wall of Knowledge

Borders Books at Hamline and University.
Bookstores are always dangerous for me.  I just cant' stop grabbing books to buy.  Recently, I've actually been READING what I've bought!  Bonus.

Has anyone seen my minivan????

To say it's been a bit snowy around here is a severe understatement!  Alley off of Griggs.

Highland Theater

I did a super quick search and couldn't find any history on this theater but I would guess it to be built around the 40's or 50's.  One theater on the main floor and another screen up in the balcony so they can show two features.  I LOVE going here because it's so gorgeous and close to my house, although parking sucks.  Cleveland and Ford Parkway.

Color in the middle of winter

So many snowy pictures lately.  I thought some vibrant color might be nice.  Pier I Imports, Grand Avenue.

Morning Motion

This little flower has been sticking close to home in all this dark, cold, wintery weather so I don't have any fresh new Saint Paul pics.  But this morning, on my way to work, I captured some of the motion of the morning and thought it might make for a nice little photo essay.  Enjoy.

Dunlap and Grand Avenue about 7:20 am.

Grand and Lex.  LOVE the bus in motion!

RR tracks at Grace and Eerie.

Huge snowbanks along Grace Street.

Park next door to my office building.

Treacherous walk from the parking lot.

Coffee fixes everything!
The view from my office window.
Happy Friday everyone!

You're CHOKING me!!!!!

As our gutters struggle to emerge from the snow banks and make themselves useful again, they only find themselves beaten down by more snow.  Another half an inch is predicted for today/tomorrow.  It's only a matter of time before the residents of Saint Paul turn the corner and descend into total madness.

Making Room for More

When it snows as much as it has this December you just plain run out of places to put it all.  While gearing up for a threatened 7 more inches (of which we actually received about 2) there was a whole lot of snow re-arranging going on.  Parking lot at Jefferson and Colborne.

Cold? What cold?

It was -8 by my car's thermometer today.  The kind of morning that makes even your teeth cold.  While I headed for the warmth of a yoga studio, these guys went balls out and hit Grand Avenue for a pre-dawn-sub-zero run.  Bravo fellas.  Bravo!
