For years I drove by this place thinking it was a sports bar only to find out it's a sports barber. What's a sports barber you ask? I have no idea! Maybe you get beer and peanuts while a game is on the big screen with your haircut?

Actually, I have been a customer of Schmitty's on occasion. Most of their clientele are high school footballers and off-duty highway patrolmen. Also, the guy who cut my hair had obviously had some kind of boxing career once upon a time, with the mashed-up nose and cauliflower ears to show for it.

I get my hair cut at Schmidty's. Basically, what they mean is it's a barber shop with sports memorabilia all over the place and sports on one of two tvs at all times. That's about it.

Best place ever to go. They are 115 miles away but well worth the trip. Wedding cut's on the house, son's first cut...giddy-up, daughter need's a de-tangling, not a problem. I've gotten my hair cut by the boy's since 1994, when they moved to St. Paul, I followed. More than fond family memories. Johnny and Flech are top notch.
