Mounds View Indian Burial Grounds

Located up on a bluff on the north side of the Mississippi River amidst some winding roads, a lovely park and gorgeous old homes is Mounds View Indian Burial Grounds.  It is perched atop a hill with views of both Saint Paul and Minneapolis.  The burial grounds are big mounds all in a row, covered with grass and surrounded by a fence.

Also located there is an aviation beacon from the 1920's that used to help light the way from Saint Paul to Chicago.  It is one of the few remaining beacons that has been preserved and restored to its original condition.  The Saint Paul Regional Airport is just on the other side of the river, down at river level.

Pretty cool spot for a walk or a sit or a motorcycle ride.
