Kessler's Maguire Funeral Home on West 7th. I love this building and find it regal enough for its designated purpose.

A few years ago, the Met Council wanted to place a busway down the middle of West 7th that would have widened the road four feet and would have required that Kessler McGuire remove that wonderful portico.

Thank goodness that didn't happen.

And I like the German restaurant that is on the other side of the street too!

the met council could have done us all a favor and pushed harder for the good of all. one barely used portico does not negate the fact that increased revenue to prosperous downtown businesses, decreases localized drug traffic, and dealing with which store can sell cigarettes cheaper is WRONG. As a long time resident, I'm tired of watching the neighborhood be destroyed by the notion of history saving tomorrow. If kessler mcguire, and all of the west 7th area, cared about the neighborhood, they would help us by allowing light rail to do what is necessary to implement a light rail route.
